The system automatically computes vessel port-call tariffs by combining the published tariff rules with vessel-specific data (e.g., gross tonnage, port call count).
For each line item, the AI generates a transparent breakdown showing:
The applicable rule from the published tariff (e.g., "R 188.46 per 100 tons of GT for 'All other ships'")
The vessel-specific inputs used (e.g., "GT of 'STAR WESTPORT' = 35,837.0")
The exact formula and resulting amount (e.g., "(35,837.0 / 100) × R 188.46 = ZAR 67,657.14")
The nature of the cost (compulsory vs. optional)
Each calculation is paired with a citation link (e.g., Malaysia/Pengerang Terminal/Light Dues Regulation - Peninsular.pdf#page=1)
Clicking the citation opens the source tariff PDF in an inline viewer, jumped to the exact page that defines the rule, so the user can verify the AI's calculation against the official published tariff in one click.
The back office will verify the calculation during screening and release it to the user once the calculation is confirmed correct.
